Live trains in Spain
On the Radar España map you can see the trains running in Spain right now, with their position, delay and service notices. It updates itself every few seconds, with no sign-up and nothing to install. The interface is in Spanish: see the quick glossary.
Which trains are shown
| Trains | What you see |
|---|---|
| Renfe high-speed (AVE), long and medium distance | GPS position, delay, last and next station, from Renfe's official data |
| Renfe Cercanías and Rodalies commuter trains (Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Málaga, Bilbao and the other networks) | GPS position, delay, cancelled trains and service notices |
| Rodalies de Catalunya | Service status of each line, as published by the Government of Catalonia |
| FGC (Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya) | Train positions |
| Metro Bilbao | Real-time position |
| Euskotren | Timetable-based position, corrected with the real delay it publishes |
| Ouigo | Timetable-based position, without delays (it publishes nothing more) |
Iryo and freight trains do not appear because that data is not published openly: Iryo does not release the position of its trains, and Adif does not publish the movements of all operators in a reusable format.
How to read the map
- Each train is a marker with its line or number. Its colour shows the delay, and the most delayed trains are drawn on top.
- A filled marker is a real GPS position. A hollow marker labelled «estimada» is a position worked out from the timetable: it is not GPS.
- Tap a train to open its card: origin and destination, delay, the last and next station with its time, the platform when the operator publishes it and, on the map, its route over the last 45 minutes.
- In the Trenes tab you can search by train number, line or station, with the list sorted by delay.
- The top bar sums up the moment: how many trains have GPS, how many are 5 minutes or more late, and the median delay.
Train alerts
Radar España watches the data and warns in the Alertas tab when:
- a train stops between stations, far from any station, or several trains stop in the same area;
- a train's delay jumps suddenly;
- there is an earthquake, a possible wildfire or a serious weather warning near running trains;
- many trains vanish from the map in a short time, or a source stops sending data.
Traffic incidents, weather and other emergencies are explained in incidents and emergencies.
Before you use it
Data arrives seconds to minutes late, and Radar España is not an official website of Renfe, Adif or any operator. It tells you how the network is doing and roughly where your train is; for timetables, tickets and official notices always check with the operator. Sources and licences are listed in the sources and licences page (in Spanish).
